By accessing or using toprated.lk (“the Site”, “we”, “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Site.

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

toprated.lk is an independent online directory of doctors and healthcare providers in Sri Lanka. We enable members of the public to discover healthcare professionals, submit ratings and reviews, and find information about hospitals and clinics.

toprated.lk is not a medical service provider. Nothing on this Site constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions. In an emergency, contact emergency services immediately.

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Submit false, misleading, defamatory, or fraudulent content.
• Post reviews for doctors you have not personally visited or received care from.
• Attempt to manipulate ratings, whether for yourself or others (including competitors).
• Use the Site to harass, impersonate, or harm any individual.
• Attempt to access, scrape, or extract data from the Site in an automated or unauthorised manner.
• Submit content that violates any applicable law, including defamation, privacy, or intellectual property law.
• Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or any harmful code.

We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms, without notice.

When you submit a review or rating, you represent that:

• The review reflects your genuine experience with that healthcare provider.
• You are not the doctor or healthcare provider being reviewed, nor are you affiliated with them or their competitors.
• The content does not contain personal attacks, hate speech, or discriminatory language.
• The content does not disclose confidential medical information about yourself or others.

By submitting a review, you grant toprated.lk a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content as part of the directory.

We moderate reviews and may remove content that violates these terms or that we determine in our sole discretion to be inappropriate. We are not obligated to remove reviews upon request, but will consider valid legal or factual disputes.

Healthcare professionals may create an account and claim their listing on toprated.lk. By doing so, you agree that:

• You are the person named on the profile, or are authorised to act on their behalf.
• The SLMC registration number and identity documents you submit for verification are genuine and belong to you.
• Your public profile information (name, speciality, hospital, city, photo) is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
• Replies to patient reviews are professional, respectful, and do not contain identifying patient information.

We reserve the right to reject or revoke a verified status at any time if we find evidence of misrepresentation. Verified status on toprated.lk does not constitute endorsement of any individual's clinical competence.

Doctor and healthcare provider listings are submitted by the public or by the professionals themselves. We make reasonable efforts to verify profiles, but we cannot guarantee that all information on the Site is accurate, current, or complete.

Do not rely solely on information from toprated.lk when making healthcare decisions. Always verify details (such as location, contact information, and availability) directly with the healthcare provider.

All content on toprated.lk that is not user-generated — including the site design, logo, code, and written content — is the property of toprated.lk and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without our written permission.

You retain ownership of content you submit (reviews, photos). By submitting content, you grant us the licence described in Section 4.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, toprated.lk and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Any loss or harm resulting from reliance on information found on the Site.
• The conduct or quality of care provided by any healthcare professional listed on the Site.
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Site.
• Temporary unavailability of the Site due to maintenance, hosting issues, or other technical factors.

The Site is provided “as is” without any warranty, express or implied.

The Site may contain links to external websites (for example, hospital websites or doctor LinkedIn profiles). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any third-party websites.

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising from the use of this Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
